How to Teleport in Temtem

It's fast, but it ain't free.

In a large-scale open world like that of Temtem, you need a way to get around quickly once you’ve explored the majority of the world. Given its obvious inspirations, you’d probably expect to be flying around on a Temtem’s back, right? This world works a bit differently than you’re used to, though. Here’s how to teleport in Temtem.

How to Teleport in Temtem

Rather than through any particular Temtems or abilities, fast travel in Temtem is accomplished through teleportation via a special item known as the Matter-Transfer Drone. With this doohickey, you can warp back to any places in the world you’ve already visited, but obviously, you need to get it first.

To get the Matter-Transfer Drone, you’ll need to complete the sidequest “Refrigerated Vanishings” in Miyako Village. You need to talk to Mayu in her house, get further information from Miku at the nearby table, then talk to the Confused Dude on the first floor of the apartment building west of Neoedo Temporium. After that, go talk to Satoko at the Neodo izakaya. You’ll need to answer a quick quiz to get the Matter-Transfer Drone. Here are the answers, in order:

  • Anak Volcano.
  • The Cenote!
  • The Kakama Cenote!
  • Upinzani, Kwea Uplands, Jino Gap, Vumbi.
  • Thalassian Cliffs…
  • Four!
  • The Mines of Mictlan…
  • …Aguamarina Caves…
  • … and Anak.

Answer all of the questions correctly, and Satoko will give you the Matter-Transfer Drone. Now that you have the Drone, you can start activating transfer points around the world. You’ll know them when you see them; they’re glowing beacons sitting near most major landmarks. When you want to travel, just open up your map, pick an island, and a transfer point you’ve activated to instantly jump to it.

Here’s the important part: aside from a few free locations like Arissola, Nanga, and Quetzal, teleporting costs Pansuns. While you can activate a transfer point for free, teleporting to one will cost you 500 Pansuns a pop. As such, you should endeavor to travel on foot as much as you can, so as not to burn a hole in your wallet.
