Taking down armored enemies is no joke, you can try different techniques adapting to the situation. The basic idea is to make the enemies weak first and then try to take them down.

Stripping The Armor

There are two types of armored enemies which you will face in A Plague Tale Requiem, Mace soldiers and Shield soldiers. Mace Soldiers wear a mass of armor which you need to open by the help of a sling and rock. They hold the armor in place with a lock on their back. Opening their armor will leave them vulnerable to all attacks temporarily. We recommend you to use fire for the best results.

The Shield soldiers have full armor and a shield to protect them. The lock to their armor is on their chest so it’s tricky to take them down. However, you can try to stun them by burning them with tar and fire (burning them with their armor on won’t kill them). You can open the lock while they are stunned and then attack them or let them burn.

Apart from the above strategies, there are a few small tips to help you be effective against the armored enemies. Crossbows are great against armor, tar and fire is your best bet and Armor Piercer skill is very effective if you have it with the Prudence skill tree. You can kill enemies with a single strike.
