How to Join Sector’s Edge Open Beta

From the minds of 2 Australian brothers, comes the spiritual successor to Ace of Spades that you've been waiting for. Let's find out how to join the open beta and start demolishing.

Since the days of the voxel-based battle builder Ace of Spades, people have yearned for a spiritual successor to the cult classic. While many games such as Crackdown 3 and Battlefield 2042 promised players destruction and mayhem on the same scale as the aforementioned game, disappointment and distrust is all that was garnered. Luckily, at the same time as some of these AAA games were being churned out, there were two brothers who had a specific goal in mind. They wanted to create a game that mixed the voxel-based properties of Ace of Spades with the quick gunplay of Battlefield. Fast forward two years after the initial closed beta launch in 2020, and Sector’s Edge is currently on Steam early access.

From the minds of 2 brothers from Sydney, Australia, Sector’s Edge is an 12v12 skill based FPS with entirely destructible environments. Originally released a closed version of the game in 2020, the idea was to take the building blocks from Battlefield and meld them together with the building blocks from Ace of Spades. It combines the battle building from Ace of Spades with the loadout system and tight skilled gunplay mechanics of the Battlefield series.

Using a proprietary engine as well as assets, the brothers over at development team Vercidium have shown that their first and foremost priority with Sector’s Edge is making sure the game feels good when players hop in. Adding to that is the fact that they have over 24 dedicated server locations all over the world. Clearly, the team sees this as a long term investment for them. Anyone looking to demolish a 10 story skyscraper should go on Steam right now to start downloading and playing. For others, this is definitely a game to keep an eye on in the near future.

Sector’s Edge is currently out on Steam early access for Windows PC.
