How to Complete the Hoenn Celebration Event Timed Research Tasks and Rewards

Pokemon GO‘s Hoenn Celebration Event is currently underway. It’s one of the few events celebrating the Pokemon world’s various regions as we approach the Kanto Tour in February. As always, Trainers have some new event-exclusive research tasks to complete. Here’s a look at how to Complete the Hoenn Celebration Event Timed Research tasks and the rewards.

The Hoenn Celebration Event begins on Tuesday, January 19 at 10 AM Local Time and goes until Sunday, January 24 at 8 PM Local Time.

Features include more frequently appearing Pokemon like Aron, Baltoy, Carvanha, Numel, Taillow, Torchic, Treecko, and more. You’ll also find Anorith, Aron, Bagon, Beldum, Corphish, Lileep, and Skitty hatching from 5km Eggs. 

Hoenn Celebration Event Timed Research Tasks and Rewards

Here are the Hoenn Celebration Event’s Timed Research:

• Catch 2 Kyogre: Kyogre Candy x10
• Catch 2 Groudon: Groudon Candy x10
• Catch 30 Pokemon: 30 Poke Balls
• Rewards: 3000 XP, Silver Pinap Berry, Rayquaza Encounter (Hurricane move)

While the list of research tasks and rewards is short, it still requires a bit of time. Trainers will need to do four raids to encounter the tier 5 legendary Groudon and Kyogre. So, come prepared and make sure to catch them after the raid. 

Completing all three tasks will spawn a Rayquaza encounter, with the exclusive Hurricane charged attack move. You’ll also earn 3000 XP, a Silver Pinap Berry, and a chance at a shiny. Good luck!
