Hogwarts Legacy has been rumored since 2018 when a very early trailer for the game leaked and was then deleted from the internet. Fans wouldn’t hear anything about the game but rumors until 2020 when it was revealed as a part of the PS5 reveal event. In January of 2021, a delay of 2022 was announced. This Thursday, a new State of Play event will take place with a focus on Hogwarts Legacy.
Could a Release Date Be Announced for Hogwarts Legacy?
The Community Manager at WB Games Avalanche, Chandler Wood, took to the PlayStation Blog to announce this upcoming event. He revealed that it would last about 20 minutes “featuring over 14 minutes of Hogwarts Legacy gameplay captured on PS5.” The event will end with comments from the developers working on the game.
Fans have been waiting a long time for this game ever since the gameplay leak of 2018. This event announcement shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise as rumors have circulated for the past few weeks that something involving the game would be happening soon. It is likely that there will be an official release date announced.
A rumor suggests that it could be released on September 6. We’ll know more once the event happens this Thursday. It will happen at 5 p.m. ET (2 p.m. PT) live on Twitch and YouTube.
