Despite only being available on PC and mobile, Undecember does offer remarkably competent controller support! However, despite how competent the controller support actually is for a game only optimized for mobile and PC, the feedback regarding this controller support hasn’t all been very positive.

Some fans of the game have reported difficulties using controllers with the game, such as certain buttons refusing to work. Although this can be frustrating for controller users, it’s important to remember that this game is still very new, and bugs/issues regarding controller usage will likely be fixed and polished in the upcoming updates.

It’s also important to note that this game was optimized for PC and mobile, which means it wasn’t necessarily created with controllers in mind; these types of issues are to be expected in the early days of a game like this. After Undecember receives its first couple of updates, many of the issues regarding its controller support will likely be fixed. In the meantime, there are ways of fixing some of the common issues yourself.

How to Fix Common Controller Issues with Steam

If you’re using a controller to play Undecember on Steam, there are ways of alleviating some of the issues you’re experiencing. The easiest way to do this is by disabling the Steam input. This may sound complicated to those who have never had to do this before, but it’s actually a much simpler process than you might think! Follow these steps to disable the input:

  • Open Steam, and make sure you’re logged in.
  • Right-click on Undecember and click on “Properties” from the menu.
  • Once you click on “Properties”, a small window should appear. On the left-hand side of the new window, click on “Controller”.
  • Clicking this should bring you to all of the controller settings for the game. Among these settings should be a drop-down menu with three options:
    • Disable Steam Input
    • Use Default Settings
    • Enable Steam Input
  • Click on the “Disable Steam Input” option from the drop-down menu.

After you disable the input, you shouldn’t have any more problems with playing Undecember with a controller. You can finally hack and slash on your own terms in this brutal RPG! Stick with Gamer Journalist for more helpful tips, tricks, and guides for Undecember!
