If there’s a single nice thing you could say about the evil forces that loom in the background of the Evil Dead series, it’s that they don’t discriminate. Man, woman, child, folks from all walks of life, the Deadites don’t care; they’ll either kill you or possess you, whatever’s most convenient. How accommodating. Still, in broad terms, it’s good to be inclusive.
Speaking of inclusivity, does Evil Dead: The Game have crossplay?
Does Evil Dead: The Game have Crossplay?
If you want to play Evil Dead: The Game with friends, but you all have different platforms, then never fear: the developers have confirmed on the game’s official Twitter page that full crossplay is supported between all available consoles.
As a reminder, Evil Dead: The Game is now available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via the Epic Games Store. All of these versions are 100% crossplay compatible with one another, so you can team up with your friends no matter who is playing on what. A version of the game is also in the works for the Switch, which will presumably be crossplay compatible as well whenever it comes out.
If you visit Evil Dead: The Game’s settings menu, specifically the Game tab, you can check to make sure that crossplay is turned on. As long as crossplay is turned on, you’ll automatically matchmake with players across all platforms. If for whatever reason you only want to play with people on the same platform as you, then you can flip crossplay off to make that happen. Just bear in mind your lobby wait times may increase a bit, since it’ll be matchmaking from a smaller pool of players.
So grab your chainsaw and broomstick, and in the words of the immortal Ash Williams, get “groovy!”
