10 Best Smoke Spots in Dust 2

Blocking vision.

Dust 2 is one of the most beloved of CSGO’s maps. It keeps the action compressed in a relatively small area that’s balanced for both attackers and defenders, which makes for more meaningful engagements. Well-placed smokescreens can cut off these valuable sightlines and make pushing for objectives much safer.

That said, here are some of the most useful Dust 2 smoke spots that every player should know. Don’t forget to pay very close attention to crosshair placement!

A simple yet incredibly useful smoke spot in Dust 2 that blocks multiple high-risk angles at once. From Upper Tunnel’s T Spawn entrance, immediately hug the left wall and stand on the corner past the pillar. Then, aim for the spot above. Use the blurry line as a reference point.

2. Upper Tunnel to B Double Doors

The large doors leading to B-Site can be safely smoked from Upper Tunnel. Head inside and look for the small crate near the exit that leads to the site. Then, look up, and throw a smoke grenade through the exposed ceiling, just above the wooden board pictured above.

3. Mid Double Doors to Upper Tunnel corridor

Contrary to the previous tip, this smoke spot lets attackers immediately block Upper Tunnel’s corridor for an aggressive push to B-site. From Mid, find the vertical window on the building to the right, then aim for the triangular gap on the wooden crane in the distance.

4. A-Long Doors to A-Under

Players can smoke the underpass without exposing themselves to A-Long by using a running smoke throw aimed at the tooth graffiti on the building wall shown above. A standing throw onto this smoke spot can also block vision on the street itself.

5. Outside Long to Long A corner

Crouch in the corner between the two crates near the double doors that lead to A-site in Outside Long, then aims for the fourth indent on the edge of the doorway’s roof. After this, carefully move the crosshair vertically until it aligns with the wire. Uncrouch, then throw the smoke.

CT players can counter a push coming from Long A by throwing a smoke grenade to cover the double doors by the corner. Do this by standing in front of the car’s left backseat and aiming for the topmost power line on the corner of the three-story building.

7. Mid-Short Stairs to A-Site ledge

Stand next to the iron bar doors in Short Stairs, turn around, then throw a smoke against the wall between the roof edge and the window. The grenade will land on or close to the ledge, blocking vision from the car and A-Ramp.

8. T Spawn to Mid Box

Stay by the corner between the ramp and its adjacent building, then aim for the top-left part of the window directly across. Jump-throw a smoke grenade from this position to obscure vision from CT’s side of mid to A-Short.

9. Mid Box to CT Spawn

Hug the corner of Mid Box facing T Spawn, then aim for the spot shown above. Use the dinks on the wall for reference. This smoke spot will completely block vision in Dust 2’s underpass, allowing players to take B-site by storm.

10. CT Spawn to Mid

Defenders can rush Lower Tunnel by throwing a smoke grenade right over Mid Doors. Hug the corner just outside of CT Spawn, aim for the exact spot shown above, then backpedal as soon as the grenade is thrown. This will block vision from Catwalk and the upper ramp.
