When was the first crossword puzzle invented?
The first known published crossword puzzle was created by a journalist by the name of Arthur Wynne from Liverpool, and Wynne is credited at the inventory of crossword puzzles. The crossword appeared on December 21, 1913 in New York World. Crosswords became a regular weekly feature in New York World, and other publications such as the Pittsburgh Press and The Boston Globe later picked them up.
